We have been receiving queries regarding the weight loss injection containing Semaglutide (Wegovy®).
We would like to advise that this product is not yet available in the UK for weight loss and a launch date has not yet been confirmed. We can advise that Semaglutide for weight loss will only be available for patients that meet the eligibility criteria outlined by NICE and will also only be available through a specialist weight management service. It will not be available from GP practices. Further information can be found on the patient information section of the NICE guidance.
(Semaglutide is also used by people living with diabetes and these people are not affected by the above.)
