Vaccinations – your first defence against flu
Posted on:
The NHS flu programme starts this month with vaccinations being offered to pregnant women, 2- & 3-year-olds and children aged 6 months to years with an underlying health condition.
Vaccination for children is by a quick and painless nasal spray.
Pregnant women can get their vaccination from their midwife or GP. Their vaccination will protect from any complications, as well as protecting their newborn when flu can be most dangerous.
Flu vaccinations protect from serious illness, including hospitalisation, and reduce time off school and work.
