Clinics & Services
Practice Nurses
We have three practice nurses who provide a range of services including chronic disease management, overseas travel advice and vaccinations, childhood immunisations, cervical smears plus well person checks including advice on smoking, diet, exercise, alcohol and weight reduction.
Blood tests
Drop-in clinics for blood tests take place on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings between 8.00am and 11.45am. Please ensure you bring your blood form along.
Maternity Care
All of the doctors provide antenatal and postnatal care during usual surgery hours. The midwives run an antenatal clinic at the practice each Tuesday from 13:30 to 16:30.
Contraception
We offer a completely confidential contraception service. Please tell the reception staff if you require emergency contraception, in order that you may be seen promptly. We also offer a fitting and removal service for implants and intrauterine devices (coils). Please ask for an appointment at Reception
Child Health Clinic
This is held in the Arnbrook Children’s Centre every Friday between 09:30 and 11:00. The telephone number is 01159165010. Health visitors and nursery nurses are available at this time for child development checks and child health advice. Childhood immunisations are given by the Practice nurses here at Daybrook Health Centre by appointment.
Minor Surgery
Minor operations are carried out by the doctors at the practice, so you may not have to go to hospital for some small procedures. Just make a routine appointment with the doctor who will advise you if this is possible.
Medicals
We also undertake insurance and pre-employment medicals, as well as medicals for certain jobs, sports etc. A charge is usually made for these services. Please ask at the reception for details.
Smoking Cessation
Would you like free NHS support to quit smoking? Appointments can be booked via reception with Sue, the health care assistant, or with Michelle the New Leaf Stop Smoking Advisor, who holds clinics here weekly.
